Wort
Die Gemeinschaft Lübecker Künstlerinnen und Künstler führt unter dem Titel »Kunstinseln« künftig an unterschiedlichen Orten in Lübeck Kunstprojekte durch. Den Auftakt bildet die Ausstellung WORT, die in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Günter Grass-Haus entsteht.
Hier zeigen 14 Künstlerinnen und Künstler ihre ganz eigene Position zum Thema WORT – von lyrisch-poetischen bis zu aktuellen politischen Diskursen. Sie nähern sich der Frage, was ein Wort in ihrer jeweiligen künstlerischen Sprache bedeutet und sie erkunden, wie Wörter verwendet und verwandelt werden.
Welche Bezüge bestehen zwischen Material und Wort? Welche Wirkkraft geht davon aus? Wie berührt diese Verbindung aktuelle Kontexte und deren Interpretationen? Welche Dimensionen umfasst das Wort als grafisches Zeichen, als Klang, als Träger von Sinn, als Botschaft? Ein Wort hat die Macht, vieles aus dem »Gefüge« zu bringen, es kann zu Reaktionen führen, die wiederum neue Wörter gebären.
Gezeigt werden fotografische und konzeptuelle Arbeiten, Druckgrafik, Installation, Plastik und Malerei. Die vielfältigen Ansätze vereinen sich in der Frage nach dem Wort – und das sowohl frei assoziierend als auch in direktem Bezug auf das Schaffen des Wortkünstlers und des bildenden Künstlers Günter Grass.
Kick-off for the "Art Islands": the WORT exhibition
The Lübeck Artists' Association is organizing art projects at various locations in Lübeck under the title "Art Islands". The exhibition WORT, which is being created in collaboration with the Günter Grass-House, marks the starting point of the „Art Islands“.
Here, 14 artists present their individual positions on the subject of WORD - from lyrical and poetic to current political discourses. They approach the question of what a word means in their respective artistic language and explore how words are used and transformed.
What relationships exist between material and word? What impact does it have? How does this connection affect current contexts and their interpretations? What dimensions does the word encompass as a graphic sign, as a sound, as a carrier of meaning, as a message? A word has the power to disrupt many things, it can lead to reactions that in turn give birth to new words.
On display are photographic and conceptual works, prints, installations, sculptures and paintings. The diverse approaches unite in the question of the word - both freely associative and in direct reference to the work of the word artist and visual artist Günter Grass.
